Our Mission

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Our mission is a direct exhortation from Christ himself. As children of God, through the work of Jesus Christ, we have a distinct role as light bearers to shine forth into this darkened world. At Children of Light, we seek to shine our lights and disciple children in such a way that they also learn to be light bearers for Christ in this ever darkening world. To us, it is all about giving glory to our Father in heaven!

Our Vision

Our vision is to walk alongside homeschool families, as they disciple and guide their children, through the means of a Christian Montessori approach which encourages children to learn independently, exploratively, and genuinely.

Our Beliefs

We proclaim that Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Therefore, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will be encouraged for the students and modeled by our staff. (Romans 10:9).

We believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God upon which we build our understanding of God’s will and His ways. We hold to a literal interpretation of God’s word. (John 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:105).

We hold these doctrines as essential:

The Holy Trinity (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Thessalonians 1:2, John 1:1-5, 2 Corinthians 3:17).
- There’s only one true God. God is one essence, but three Persons.

Creation (Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:3).
- God is creator of all things.
- God created humans with a sacred identity and two distinct genders (Genesis 1:27, Corinthians 6:9-11).
  - We believe our identity and gender are sacred, designed by God, in his image – male and female, and are based on biological sex at birth.
  - A person’s biology and body match the bathroom they use.
Depravation (Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:23, John 3:19).
- Due to the sin of Adam and Eve, all creation is in a state of depravity, therefore, humanity can no longer commune with holy God.
Salvation and Restoration (Acts 4:12, John 8:3-13, Ephesians 1:3-13, Isaiah 60:19-20, Ephesians 5:7-14, Rev 22:1-5).
- God made a plan of redemption, that He and mankind may once again dwell together. Salvation came through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe Christ will come a second time and bring complete restoration to His creation. For those who believe in these truths, eternal relationship with God is reserved for them in the New Jerusalem.
Family (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Exodus 20:12, Isaiah 2:5).
- We believe God loves families and has called parents to pass the promises of God to their children.
- Marriage and Sexuality (Ephesians 5:31, 1 Corinthians 7:2-5)
  - We believe that marriage is a legal and committed relationship between one man and one woman and that God’s design for sexual intimacy is only within the bounds of marriage.
